netstrategies.

Over the summer of 2010, I worked for NetStrategies, an Internet Marketing company. Here, I spent a lot of time working with social media. This involved doing a lot of work with Twitter, Facebook, and Blogging. This was my first look into the real world of Marketing, and I definitely learned a lot.

This summer I interned as a Marketing Coordinator for Ski Travel Unlimited. My first major project involved organizing a fundraiser for the Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. The event was the company's 5th annual Skatefest, a skateboarding competition and event geared towards people of all ages. 100% of the proceeds went to the hospital, and we raised over $10,000. The primary focus of this country is sponsoring ski and snowboarding tripts to Mt. Tremblant in Canada for high school and college kids. My main priority after Skatefest was to develop a marketing plan to attract college kids to our CollegeXBreaks trips over winter break. This involved endless amounts of research and testing, but was thoroughly enjoyable. It was amazing to be able to use my marketing skills in the real world and actually implement things for a company that I am passionate about.
