As Leadership minors, we all share the same general feelings towards the Inventory project. It's very long, tedious, and in many ways, challenging. Overall, I think the Inventory is a lesson in itself. Completing 90 outcomes forced me to look into myself and truly apply these models, concepts, and experiences into my own life. For example, looking at a model and understand what it says about a leadership theory means nothing unless you understand how it applies to you. Looking at these theories, I feel that it is easy to explain what they are and what they mean, however discovering how it fits into my life makes that understanding much more concrete. Working on the inventory allowed me to learn things about myself and others. For instance, the first section really pushes to pull out deep thoughts regarding emotions, life changes, and my personal strengths and weaknesses. My favorite Outcome here is #15, where I evaluate my Myer-Briggs type and my Strengths. Over the course of the minor, I realized how I have changed and I understand how that makes me a stronger person. Over these past few semesters, I have gone from being a nurturer to an inspirer, which makes me very proud. My favorite aspect of the inventory project is going back and reflecting on the outcomes I completed over the previous semesters. My understanding of numerous outcomes has become much clearer, and I have had new experiences that apply or completely change my thoughts as well.
